FRIENDS

Friendship doubles your joys, and divides your sorrows.

Many people will walk in
and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave
footprints in your heart.

My Pink Heart

My Pink Heart

Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet
when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.

– Author Unknown –

A friend is someone who walks in
when the whole world has walked out.

Side by side or miles apart,
good friends are always
close to the heart.

Good friends share good times,
but great friends divide pain.

Two may talk together
under the same roof for many years,
yet never really meet,
and two others at first speech
are old friends.

Unlikely Friends

Once upon a sunny day
a ladybug and bright blue jay
discovered something most would say
unlikely, preposterous, impossible.

What others did not know
that in time these two would grow
they looked inside their heart and soul
felt trust, understanding, and laughter.

Alike sometimes but different too
some things can not be misconstrued
with love, a connection, a kinship.

And so they go from here to there
singing, laughing without a care.
A most unlikely amazing pair,
A ladybug, a blue jay,
FRIENDS!

– Sheryl Arbuckle Green –

Valentines Love

You’re the syrup on my pancakes
You’re the sugar in my tea
You’re the icing on my cupcakes
You’re the sweets in life for me

You’re the chocolate on my ice cream
You’re the sweet grapes in my wine
You’re everything I love in life
Will you be my Valentine?

– Dr. Don Stoltz –

Timeless Valentine

As time goes by from year to year,
One thing is surely true, my dear;
Though decades come and decades go,
Just seeing you sets me aglow.

Time shifts my body; I start to sag,
When I pass a mirror, it can make me gag.
My joints all ache; I can hardly move;
Still a smile from you, and I’m in the groove.

Getting older can be a pain,
But with you along, I can’t complain.
Despite the things that we go through,
I know I’ll never stop loving you.

Your loving heart turns life to play,
As we laugh at time from day to day.
So I write this poem, and I’ll hang my sign,
Saying, “Always Be My Valentine.”

– Priya Shroff –

Year Round Valentine

I love you all through February,
Not just on Valentine’s Day;
I cherish you when flowers of spring
Appear in the midst of May.

I adore you in the summer,
When the air is filled with heat;
Without you in my life each day,
I wouldn’t be complete.

I treasure you in fall,
When leaves are turning gold;
I loved you when you were younger;
I’ll love you when you’re old.

I prize you in the winter,
When colder days are here;
I love you, love you all the time,
Every minute of the year.

So I’ll give to you this Valentine,
But I want to let you know,
It’s not just today, but always,
That I will love you so.

– Joanna Fuchs –

It’s Valentines Day,
The day about love.
The angels are singing,
Loud up above.

Will you be my angel,
Want to be mine?
I love you so much,
You’re my Valentine!

– Jessica-Lynn Grandmont –

Simple Valentine

Hearts Are Red
Oceans Are Blue
The Perfect Day
Is Being With You

A Day Of Love
A Basket Of Flowers
Barefoot On The Beach
With You For Hours

Tossing A Blanket
Down On The Sand
Enjoying The View
While Holding Your Hand

It’s All About
Simplicity
You & Me For
Eternity.

– Brandy Fenner –

To the one who owns this heart of mine
Comes this lovely wish dear valentine
That you’ll feel special all day through
Because I think the world of you!

– Joanne Griffiths –

Loved you yesterday, love you still,
Always have, always will.

Love Poems

To The One I Love

Beautiful lady, lily of the field
You, my umbrella and my shield
Your adoration showers like the rains
And drowns all odds and pains.

Searching everywhere unto the crest
Clear you stood above the rest
For never in my dreams most sweet
Did I such a lovely damsel meet.

Mesmerised I am, dreaming all the while
Of when we shall walk down the aisle
To vows we take we shall keep
With our affection ever deep.

For eternity our love shall sprout
Though the world be in drought
A union most blissful, this I know
For we ever shall sparkle and glow.

– Robert Asom –
When nights are long & friends are few,
I sit by my window & think of you,
A silent whisper, a silent tear,
I love you with all my heart,
I wish you were here

– Stephen Watson –

You are the sea that lulls me to sleep.
You are the treasure every pirate wants to keep.
You are the sun that gives life to my day.
You are the moon that lights the dark way.
You are the kiss that sets me free.
You are the embrace that comforts me.
You are the yin and yang of my life.
So I ask you now, please be my wife.

– Emily Krause –

Beautiful Lady

A beautiful lady with eyes on fire,
That sparkle and laugh, that can smile and cry,
I love your eyes so clear and true.
Beautiful lady I adore you.

A twinkling look that bubbles bright,
With a heart to care, and a heart to love,
With hands to hold, and hands to help,
Beautiful lady there to give.

Beautiful lady, a smile so bright,
So warm and gentle, so soft. A delight.
A voice so clear,
That calms and soothes, a voice that wipes all fears.

Beautiful lady,
I’ll give to you, my thoughts, my prayers, my hopes,
I offer you my heart, my strength.
My love is yours for ever.

Beautiful lady,
I love you as you are.
Beautiful.

– Graham R. Bryan –

Thoughts…

I thought that I’d seen beauty
I thought I’d witnessed grace,
I thought that I’d known love
‘Til I gazed upon your face.

I thought I’d felt my heart beat
I thought my knees were weak,
I thought I’d heard a songbird
Until I heard you speak.

I thought the rose was fragrant
I thought the sky was blue,
I thought nature wonderful
‘Til I first laid eyes on you.

I thought the sun was shining
I thought I’d seen it all,
I thought that I was standing
Until you made me fall.

I thought my eyes were open
Yet now I’m not so sure,
I think that I may be in love
Like I’ve never loved before.

I’ll hold on to these feelings
And keep them safe within,
Until the time they’re needed
And true love can begin…

– Ashley Peter Loasby –

If Only You Knew

In the darkness of the night, there is only me and you,
We are woven together in our very own cocoon.

I feel your heartbeat against my chest,
I hold you tight as we both rest.

I start to drift off to sleep,
And think of how I turned complete.

I am only complete when you are near,
To lose you someday is my biggest fear.

It takes two halves to make a whole,
My heart and yours we make one soul.

– Rahik Thamir –

Classic Poems about Love

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.
– Aristotle

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.
– Lao Tzu

My bounty is as boundless as the sea, My love as deep; the more I give to thee, The more I have, for both are infinite.
– William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep-burning, unquenchable.
– Henry Ward Beecher

Age does not protect you from love. But love, to some extent, protects you from age.
– Anais Nin

Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward in the same direction.
– Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Love has no desire but to fulfill itself. But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires; To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To know the pain of too much tenderness. To be wounded by your own understanding of love; And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
– Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
-Helen Keller

Love does not dominate; it cultivates.
– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.
– Zora Neale Hurston

Love is life. All, everything that I understand, I understand only because I love. Everything is, everything exists, only because I love.
– Leo Tolstoy

Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away.
– Dorothy Parker

I have learned not to worry about love; but to honor its coming with all my heart.
– Alice Walker

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
– Pablo Neruda, “Love Sonnet XVII”
